Steadway Media Solutions was officially launched in 2004 when the owner, Frank Ladner, decided to offer his services to other businesses and individuals.

Frank started writing software for the DOS operating system while in junior high school. Completely self-taught, he learned through books and trial-and-error. During this time he wrote the school faculty timecard program that is still in use today.

A couple of years later Frank began consulting as a sideline business. During this time he picked up a handful of website jobs but computer repair became his mainstay. The promotion of his services was completely word-of-mouth.

After graduating high school and later college, Frank decided to move away from computer repair and start an official company to focus more on graphic design and software development. It turned out that deciding on a company name was the most time-consuming part of the whole process.

After days of deliberation, Frank's wife Janna came up with the name Steadway.
